Accounting task 1

We had a first class task in our accounting class. We had to find some answers for the questions that our lecturer gave. Our questions were: 1) who are the owners / shareholders? 2) Why would they read the accounting report of a report? 3) Provide one example to illustrate your explanation.

After the task, I learnt more about the meaning of owners and the things they will do in accounting.

Economics class task 2

In Economics class task 2, we had to identify the supply curve for mobile phones as its manufacturing technology has become more efficient.

As the same before, we made a discussion for this task and found that the supply curve will shift to right. If the manufacturing technology has become more efficient, the amount of mobile phones produced will increase, therefore the supply curve will move to right.

This task makes me understand the meaning of supply curve more when it comes to various situations.

Economics class task 1

For the class task 1, we had to show the shifts in the demand curve for steak sold at Ali’s Steakhouse as residents surrounding his restaurant have moved elsewhere.

Through the discussion, we had the same opinion that the demand curve will shift to left. The reason was that, if the residents that live surrounding his restaurant have moved to elsewhere, Ali’s customers will get less and less, thus its demand curve of steak shifts to left.

In this task, I can identify the demand curve and the movement of the curve more easily.

Mathematics assignment 1

For our first assignment, i teamed up with four members (Felicia Tiong, Lee Qian Ying, Vicky Lee, and Ricky Wong) to complete this assignment.

In order to find out the total surface area and the volume of an object given in the question paper, we had a small discussion when having a break. The first step to do was, we used the Law of Sines to find the angle of part of a triangle on combined circle, and get the area of segment.

Inside the object, there was a prism-shaped. We tried to find the length of the prism and get the area of it. Next, we had to find the area of cylinder (2πr² x 2πrh), then added all of the areas we found together to obtain the total surface area of the object.

Finally, we found the volume of the prism and cylinder. These are our calculation:

After the calculation, we then constructed the object.

In this assignment, I found that I can solve the trigonometry and the area and volume of an object more easily. I was once weak at finding in areas and volumes when it came to a rather difficult-shaped object. However, I can solve it calmly and without any struggle.
