Aims and accomplishments
The intended learning outcomes of this test is to understand and illustrate
the concepts of Effective Public Communication by some daily observations and
occurrences.
In this class test, it was containing chapter 1 to 5 in “Human
Communication” by Pearson et al., together with chapter 6 Conflict and
Negotiation in “Human Communication” by Tubbs and Mossom. We also had to write
an essay for about 200 words based on one of the movies and short clips we
watched before the day of the class test. The movies and short clips we had to
choose were “The Joy Luck Club”, “The Bridget Jones’ Diary”, “The Secret of Body
Language”, “Listen Listen Listen” on YouTube, and “Negotiation by William Mury”.
Our class test venue was at Lecture Theater 8 from 7pm to 9pm.
Reflection
After the class test, I had learnt more about Human Communication. The lecture
notes I got from our lecturer, Mr. Nathaniel Woon was much easy to understand
than just reading the textbook. Besides that, the movies and short clips also
helped me recognize more information of Human Communication in daily observations.
When it came to the essay part, I had to recall back all the movies so that I could
think which one I would use in the essay. This test really gave me a chance to
study more about the concepts I learn in class.
