Everyone said that business is fun to learn, but I did
not believe it at the first time. After the approach at Introduction to Business module, I find that
it actually is good and fun to learn. I never thought that one day I will be
learning this. This module helps me to understand the way to start a business,
the attitudes and personalities a businessman should have, and experience the
real business in campus.
The topic I like the
most is “Managing a Business”. It says that a businessman needs to make a
management process to reduce the chance of business failure. The management
process has four components, which are plan, organize, lead, and control. The reason
I like this topic is because it teaches me how to make a management process
carefully, and it explains the meaning of the four components. I learn that we
have to set our goal, then develop the strategy, and finally determine the
tactics if we want to make a plan. I also understand that organizing is based
on the concept of division of labor or job specialization. Besides that, I know
that there are various types of leadership styles which can make a leader guides
and motivates the workers. Finally, I studied that control is a process that
monitoring a firm’s performance to ensure that it is meeting its goals.
To conclude, this
module makes me had a lot of fun in the class. It was the best module I ever
had in my Semester 2. I especially really enjoyed the charity drive event,
because it gave me the chances to communicate with team members, and experience
selling products for the first time.
